Heather Ewing - Owner and Operator

Hello! My name is Heather Ewing, I am the owner and operator of Daily Dog Duties inc. and first and foremost I love dogs!  I first joined Daily Dog Duties back in 2011 as a dog walker, and had the opportunity to get to know our amazing clients and earned their trust taking care of their fur babies. In the summer of 2018, I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to become the new owner of Daily Dog Duties. My goal is to continue to provide the highest quality pet care & customer service. Many of our clients feel like family and have been with us for years. We have known their dogs since puppyhood and established lifelong bonds with our furry clients.

My love for dogs began when I was younger. I had two dogs,  a wonderful German Shepherd named Blue and sweet Border Collie named Rocky and ever since then I've had a dog in my life and couldn’t imagine it any other way. In 2012 I adopted my fur baby Milo an  Australian Shepherd from the Burlington Animal Shelter and he has taught me so much!

When I first adopted my pup Milo from the Burlington Animal Shelter in 2012 he came with his own set of unique issues that I know I had to address. It became my mission to learn as much as possible, I was introduced to Dog Trainer, Educator & Canine Behaviourist Carrie Rottaris with The Canine Bond. With the help of Carrie - The Canine Bond, her supportive community, lots of hard work and dedication I was able to overcome Milo's issues. Milo now enjoys LOTS of social time and off leash hikes. Seeing the reward of helping Milo to overcome his issues and creating the strong bond we have together has been life changing. It has become my number one priority to help other owners do the same with their dogs.

I am a Certified Trainer Educator through The Canine Bond. I have studied canine behaviour and psychology and have experience supervising packs of dogs, behaviour modification, training, feeding, administering medications, performing basic health checks and much more. I am first aid certified, insured & bonded. I have dedicated my career to ongoing education and continue to learn and grow every day. Every dog I meet and every new course I take teaches me something new. My knowledge and experience gives me the ability to provide the highest quality care for your special family member.

I am looking forward to helping owners create strong relationships with their dogs based on mutual respect and understanding. I can help owners understand their dog's needs, how to communicate with their dog through body language and how to be a leader for their dog.

Being a dog owner myself,  I know how difficult it can be to find someone you trust to take care of your loved one. I will treat your dog like my own with love and respect. I want to help owners keep their dogs happy, healthy, relaxed, comfortable, exercised and socialized. Every dog is different and I want to make sure that we develop an individualized plan to make sure the needs of you and your dog are being taken care of. I look forward to hearing from you and having you join our wonderful Daily Dog Duties family.

Our Clients Said...

Daily Dog Duties is professional and quality-focused service organization.  They fulfill all of their promises.  It’s a wonderful comfort knowing that Fritz and Rocky are in such good hands and get a fun and loving visit to break up their day while we are working.  On the days that I get home mid-day to walk them myself, they greet me, then they go back to the door looking for one of their favorite ladies!

I have been using Daily Dog Duties now for almost a year.  I adopted two very difficult  to place rescues; dogs that each came with their own set of problems and issues.  Robyn of DDD, and her team of Heather and Jacqui have been fantastic in assisting me with these two dogs into a daily routine of walks and park visits, socializing them with people, and getting them adjusted to their new rescued life.  I couldn't have had the success we've discovered without their help, after others had given up on them both.  Thank you for all you do Daily Dog Duties, I'd be lost without your assistance.
